Growing up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I became very curious about massage after watching a family member who practiced working on my mother’s shoulders following an injury. I remember being fascinated by the deep tissue work he performed on her neck muscles and how almost immediately she was able to rotate her head without the intense pain she had experienced just before. From that day forward, I started giving family members and friends shoulder rubs whenever they would need one. Before long, people began indicating to me that I should become a massage therapist. Epiphany! Later in my life I decided to enroll at the San Francisco School of Massage where I acquired my first certification as a Massage Practitioner and finally started my own business in 2006. I ran my own successful practice in San Francisco for nearly a decade before moving to Rhode Island where I worked as an HIV Case Manager while acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations at the University of Rhode Island. Now back in California, I completed several classes at the Somatherapy School of Massage in Rancho Mirage and was licensed as a Certified Massage Therapist by the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC). Honing new skills and continuing to educate myself in the art of massage and bodywork is only one of the many reasons my clients return after their first session. My capacity for empathy and insistence upon acknowledging every person as a unique individual with a unique body and needs give my clients a chance to truly feel they have experienced much more than just a massage. I specialize in integrative bodywork. My approach is to work in collaboration with every individual in order to find their best treatment options. In one single session I may use different modalities of massage and bodywork to achieve the best outcome possible. My clients are always empowered to participate in their sessions. I find this approach very beneficial as each takes home with them the desire to create or maintain a healthy lifestyle centered upon better living and a more relaxed state of being. I am the sole proprietor of Spa Vida PSP, bringing therapeutic massage services to your home, office, hotel, or guest house. Out call services are provided by appointment only, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. For appointments on weekends and holidays, call me at (760) 306-3385.
